I spent 3 hours writing the draft to my research paper and i read chapter 2 of Nervous Conditions for 20 minutes. When i started working on actually writing my research paper i realized something. That if you state your opinion you are really defeating the entire purpose of writing a research paper because the point of a research paper is to state facts and to compile information to understand something better.
When you put your opinion in a paper that is meant for pure information then you are really kind of falsifying the paper. you see opinion is not fact and since it is not fact then the purpose of the research paper(to do research and compile it) isn't valid anymore because in a sense you are not really stating fact.
Good ideas! I need to use some of these in my own paper. This information could potentially make my paper a lot better.
ReplyDeleteI also saw this when i typed my paper for about the same amount of time as you. This idea is great because it helped me not put opinions in my paper.
ReplyDeleteOpinions are ok, though, in this paper because I expect them to be informed opinions - opinions you have built from your research and experience with your topic, not just stuff you made up. So your paper does compile the information you've found but also goes beyond it into your ideas.
